Welcome to my stop on the Crop Chocolate (CC) New Year, New Team Blog Hop!! I can't tell you how excited I am to be part of the CC Design Team. There are so many amazing crafty ladies on this team, and I'm certain that they will inspire me to be the best that I can be in each and every project.
My first DT project is a gift card holder for the holidays. CC Products used: EP Christmas Snowy Pine Medium Dot, bling Non-CC: red paper and the flower-soft snow. When I did this project, I had just purchased my first set of copic markers, and I am LOVING coloring again. The card is fun and cheerful yet, looks fancy - but it's easy sneezy. It also uses one of my Nestabilities dies, and I love those things....
My out-of-the-box DT project is based on an image that I cut out of a calendar. I love the image and saying on it because it reflects me at work. I viewed it as out-of-the-box because I took something that would normally have thrown away and turning it into something I'm very proud of! The paper is BG Kioshi purchased on CC. The flowers are about 50% made from CC paper or are bitty blossoms. The centers are almost all CC-purchased brads. The washi tape, ribbon, feathers and the rest of the flowers are from my stash (except the brown one which came from UmWow - D2, a fellow CC DT member).
Amber (Design Team Leader) asked us to tell you five interesting facts about ourselves. I have a twist. There are four truths and a lie. Please follow me and leave me a comment with which fact you believe is not true. I'll pick a random person from those who guess correctly to win blog candy (that will have in it a bling ring, a couple stamps, some twine and assorted other goodies)! I'll pick a winner on Monday afternoon!
Fact 1: My dog, Pete, has one leg slightly shorter than the other and always looks like he's leaning.
Fact 2: My first job was as a bus-girl at a truck stop when I was 15.
Fact 3: When my dear husband and I married, he was wearing shorts.
Fact 4: My first car was a mint-green Pinto.
Fact 5: I almost always have some sappy movie on when I'm crafting and/or updating my blog.
Now, onto the next stop in the blog hop to see what the ever-so-fabulous Julie has in store for you!

Great projects and head shot! Man, you've got me on these facts. I can't believe you can tell a lie! What's with that?!? Oh, and BTW, I am you newest follower. How I missed becoming one 'til now, I don't know, but I'm glad I am! OK, the only fact that seems a little "askew" to me is the one about your dog, so I'm going with that. Poor thing! He can't even defend himself!
ReplyDeleteSO glad to have you on the team this term!! Great projects my friend!!
ReplyDeleteLet's see.... I go with your first car being the lie... but seriously I have no clue! I wore tennis shoes under my wedding dress instead of the heals my mom picked out, she wasn't a very happy camper with my leather Keds (hey, they were white)! I'm a new follower :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat projects...love all the flowers you made on that framed one, so pretty!! Your facts and a lie...hmmm, my thinking is #4 is the lie, I've never seen a mint green car EVER, but who knows, there's a first time for everything! ;)
ReplyDeleteHmmmm - I'm going to say #4! Have a great term!
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking no3? Have a great time on the DT! great work!
ReplyDeleteGreat projects! Oh, you're good - I can't tell which of the 5 might be a lie! But... I'm going to go with #1, the leaning dog... :)
ReplyDeleteSweet projects!I'm going with #3 is a lie..unless you were married on the beach..he wore shorts!?
ReplyDeleteIt's Craftyck...
ReplyDeleteYour projects are great. I am guessing #4. Mint green.....?
Couldn't post with my LiveJournal credentials so I am posting as anonymous.
I think #1 is your lie -- I've never head of that before.
ReplyDeleteLovely projects! If I had to guess, I would guess number 5 is the lie!
ReplyDeleteLove your projects Karen!
ReplyDeleteI have no idea which would be a lie.....you are too good at this! I'll go with the first one...
Love your work! I'm guessing #2 is a lie - your parents let your work at a truck stop when you were 15? Keep up the great work! :0)
ReplyDeleteYour card is so cute. Did they even make mint green Pintos? I'm guessing that is not true. I did have a yuck yellow Pinto as a first car though.
ReplyDeleteLove your cards. I can't even begin to decide which is the lie. So I'll guess, #1 or maybe #3. Oh heck I don't know! It was fun learning about you either way! :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat job and Congrats my guess is the mint-green pinto is the lie! Great learning more about you and again Congrats
ReplyDeleteNow a follower...great card...#4?
ReplyDeleteI'm now a follower too!! Love the picture and that saying is GREAT! I'm going to go with #4 is the lie......here's to hoping! Welcome and can't wait to work with you!!
ReplyDeleteKaren, I would have to say first one. Love your projects!
ReplyDeleteHmmmm. I'm going to say that #2 is a lie. But maybe you really were a bus girl at a truck stop at age 15! I am totally guessing here!
ReplyDeleteI think #1 is a lie. Great projects.
ReplyDeleteGreat projects !!
ReplyDeleteForgot to guess I am going to say #3 is a lie
ReplyDeleteI love the card, I love to color, I need to buy some Copics! I think #2 is a lie.
ReplyDeleteGreat projects ! I'm going with #1, although I have seen a dog with its front legs shorter than the back, so it always looked like it was running downhill !
ReplyDeleteCute gift card holder! gwsharkcpa
ReplyDeletegreat projects! I think #5 is the lie
ReplyDeleteGreat projects, I'm a follower!! And I have to say 5 cause if all the others are true I find it hard to believe you watch sappy movies while scrapping!!! Hehehe!!
ReplyDeleteWow all your facts are wild! It's hard to pick the lie but...I'll go with number 2 also. That just doesn't sound safe (well to be honest, # 4 REALLY sounds unsafe but a lot of people drove Pintos when I was coming up so I'll say that one is true!).
ReplyDeleteLove your projects and I love that you repurposed a calendar page, what a great idea!
Great projects, the pinto made me laugh
ReplyDeleteHi Karen, love this little twist, but boy is it hard to figure out which one is the lie, I am going to go with the Mint Green Pinto, guessing you had a Pinto but it was a different color? Love your projects and look forward to working with you on the DT.
ReplyDeleteLove your projects and reading about you. Which is the lie? I'm guessing #2
ReplyDeleteNew follower! LOVED the flowers. GREAT twist on the facts. I'm going with #5!
ReplyDeleteGreat projects! Love the 2nd one! I am guessing that #1 is not true about your dog :)
ReplyDeleteLove your projects, but especially the details on the framed volunteering project (tee hee!). Congrats on being on the CC DT! :) Those are some great facts even with one being a falsehood! I'm going to guess #5 is false??
ReplyDeleteKaren, I love that you're here with us this term! Super talented lady! :)
ReplyDeleteI love your projects and can't wait to see more! Now, about the "facts"...one of my cats has his front legs shorter than his back (he also always looks like he's going downhill, Shona! LOL) so I don't see why that can't be true. I'm gonna have to go with mommyx2 on this. I guess #5 is the lie. ;D
ReplyDeleteOh now which fun fact to pick as the lie... I think I am going to have to go with number 2.
ReplyDeleteHi Karen :D I'm totally pumped to be on the team next to you! Great projects :)
