CAS Birthday Cards

Back in July, Elizabeth Craft Designs had a "clean and simple" designer challenge.  I'd made the cards below, but it was before those totally adorable owls were released.  They are released now (YIPPEE), so I'm finally getting to post them!

Copic colors used:  YG61, YG63, B93, B95, R81, R83, E41, YR16
Copic colors used:  B12, B14, BG53, BG57, R81, R83, YR16, E41
Copic colors used:  V20, V22, B93, B95, E41, YR16, YG61, YG63

The papers are all from the Thinking About - Polinesia line and are cut with the Fitted Rectanges.  I used 100 lb Soft-Finish Cardstock for the card bases.  The sentiment is from the General Sentiments set and are cut with the Stitched Fishtail Banners.  I attached the banners / ribbons on with a Tim Holtz Tiny Stapler.  These were so easy to make, and I love how they turned out!

Links to the supplies I used are below.  From my stash is the pearls, ribbons, and black ink.

Thank you for stopping by.

Flower blog hop

Welcome to Dare 2B Artzy's Blog Hop!

Summer is such a beautiful time of the year.  It's always fun to see the beautiful flowers blooming.  In honor of summer, we have decided to have a fun blog hop with the theme of Dreaming of Flowers!  (Side note to my fellow Northern Californians, yes - I realize most of our flowers have dried up in the heat...but that makes "Dreaming of Flowers" even MORE appropriate!!)

A few of the design team members are using previously released floral stamps sets, and a few are using two of our newly released sets.  If you haven't had a chance to see the newest two floral stamp sets, be sure to check out "Wishing Happiness" and "Playful Posies"!  They are beautiful and so much fun to use.

You should have arrived here from the talented Pam's blog.  If you didn't and would like to hop along, please go back to the Dare 2B Artzy blog to start at the beginning.  Be sure to follow each blog and leave comments along the way for your chance at winning!  We will randomly choose a winner from one of the blogs, so the more you comment - the more chances you have to win!!

The winner will receive a stamp set and ink pad of their choice.  The blog hop will end Sunday, Aug 27 at 7 p.m. Eastern.  We will then post a winner.

I did a very patriotic flower for my project using the Blissful Blooms Stamps and the Fields of Joy Collection Paper Pack.

I colored it with the following Copic markers:  C1, R24, R27, R29, YR12, YR14, YR16, B12, B14, B16.  I'm sorry I didn't get a close-up of that beautiful bloom.  I'm in the process of moving and frankly forgot to take it before I packed up my belongings.

Thanks for stopping by.  Your next stop is the marvelous Tasha's blog.  I'm sure she has a treat posted for you to see.  We hope we have inspired you to dream of flowers :)

Check out all of D2BA's products - here.  Happy Hopping!!

The World is Your Runway

Eeeeek, Elizabeth Craft Designs has some brand new stamps....like the one I used to make this FuN card.  It's called "Fashion Set 2" and has fun coordinating dies to go with it.  (I didn't have them yet when I made this card, so I did me some fussy cutting.)  Way easier with the dies!  The background is done with the distress oxide inks, and the image is colored with Prismacolor Pencils.  The sentiment is also new - and coming soon!

The full supplies list is below.  Thank you SO much for stopping by!

Designer Challenge - Gift Giving

This month's Designer Challenge over at Elizabeth Craft Designs was to make something appropriate for gift giving!  To be entered to WIN a $20 GC to Elizabeth Craft Designs, all you have to do is answer the question, "What are some of the homemade and crafty gifts you have created over the years?" on the Elizabeth Craft Designs post!  Easy peezy!  They will select 3 lucky winners in a random drawing and post the winners on their blog on Friday, August 18!

I've seen lots of people do coasters using ceramic tiles, so I decided to give it a whirl!

I used TWO of their ALL-NEW stamps - Blossom Time and Blooms & Leaves.  I stamped with black permanent ink and then colored them in with Copic markers.  The Copics have almost a watercolor effect on the ceramic tiles (that I bought at a local hardware store for 13c each).  Here's a close up!

Some helpful tips.
1. Stamp straight up, straight down.  These things are slick!  It's hard to get a good image, but fortunately, the ink takes a while to dry, so you can wipe it off easily and try again if you don't get a good image.
2. Use permanent black ink.  I used Dare 2B Artzy Totally Black.
3.  When coloring, dab, dab...instead of swipe.  Even dry, the copics were removing the black ink when coloring.
4.  Finish by spraying on a sealer - I used a spray Mod Podge.
5.  Add cork to the back.

Aren't they fun!  Thanks for stopping by today.  My supplies list is below.

Hair:  E31, E33, E35
Hat and Boots:  B93, B95, B97
Rest of clothes, B12, B14, B16, W0, W2

Flower Lace and Flower Power

My design team sisters from the die team have been using the amazing Flower Lace dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs!  I love it so much and couldn't wait to get my hands on it.  Here's what I did using it and the Flower Power stamps and coordinating dies.

I first created a "background" page using Faded Jeans, Broken China and Wilted Violet Distress Oxide inks.  Then I stamps the flower on it and die cut it with the coordinating die.  I layered up a Stitched Rectangles die cut made from some white luster paper I had and cut the Flower Lace 1 from a piece of blue luster paper.  Then I took a piece of the scrap "background" to create the sentiment panel using the THANKS stamp from the General Sentiments set.  I adhered the card front to a card base made with 100lb Soft Finish Cardstock.  I added some lace and diamond dots.

Pastels Challenge

There's a new challenge at Dare 2B Artzy - Pastels. Show us your pinks, greens, blues, etc - all in soft pretty pastel colors!

I used a flower and leaf from the Totally Tracy Embrace stamp set and a sentiment from the Totally Tracy Hearts & Swirls stamp set.

The background is done by first embossing the "lines" from the Embrace set with embossing powder.  Then I made the background using TH Distress Oxides in Broken China and Worn Lipstick.  The leaf is stamped onto a background of Peeled Paint and Cracked Pistachio and fussy cut.  The flower is colored with Copics and fussy cut.

Thanks for stopping by....and do join our challenge!

Pretty Flower Thank You

So excited to be sharing today at Elizabeth Craft Designs!  Today, I'm using some stamps from one of their new stamp sets called, Blossom Time, creating a card for a co-worker to say "thanks" for doing a great job helping out my unit with an event.  Here's what I made:

I just LoVe these new stamps.  I colored with the following Copic makers:

It's FuN to take pics as I color and watch the image sort of come to life :)  The full instructions for my project can be found on the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog post - here.
