Nautical Birthday Card

Do you have water-loving people in your life?  I do, and instantly fell in love with the shark/fish stamp that is part of Sailor's Life stamps and coordinating dies from  Elizabeth Craft Designs (ModaScrap Collection).  Here's what I did:

Isn't he adorable?  Maybe he's so happy cuz he's going to eat that boat??!  Hahaha  I used a sentiment that is part of the General Sentiments collection.  The paper is from the Under the Sea Collection.  I taped the strip to the side and die cut the sentiment with the Stitched Fishtail Banners dies and then die cut the whole thing with the Stitched Rectangles dies.  I used the Fitted Circles to cut a couple circles in the panel and used a piece of "wave" patterned paper behind it.

Celebrate!

I love playing with the Distress Oxides!  Today, I used them along with a stamp set from Elizabeth Craft Designs to create this:

Cute, huh?  The stamps from the Color of Puppies, Girl set.  I stamped two and then cut them out with the Stitched Rectangle dies.  I colored them with V04, V06, B12, B14, R81, C1, C3, W0, W2, W3, and W5.  Adorable stamps.  The background was done with the Worn Lipstick, Salty Ocean and Wilted Violet inks and also cut with one of the Stitched Rectangle die.  The sentiment is from the Banner Sentiments set, and I added a fun banner (also dipped in Distress Oxide inks) cut from the Celebration Flags dies.  I finished off the card with some Nuvo Drops.  Special note, the balloons were stamped onto the background and then colored and fussy cut because I wanted them to not have the tiny white border.  I drew on the balloon strings with a black fine marker.

Happy Thanksgiving - Artzy Style

Happy Thanksgiving, Y'all!  I've got a thankful post up today over at Dare 2B Artzy!  Here's that I did using the Embrace and Blissful Blooms stamps:

I first wet embossed the leaves randomly using ranger embossing powder and then inked up the background with Distress Oxide inks in Lucky Clover, Fossilized Amber, Wild Honey and Walnut Inks.  I colored the flower with Copics C1, YG00, YG03, YG06, YR12, YR14, YR16, Y13, Y15 and Y18.  I cut the flower in half and used the two halves to frame the sentiment.

Hope you have an ARTZY day!

Karen

Pop-Ups Designer Challenge

It's time for a new Designer Challenge over at Elizabeth Craft Designs!  We were challenged to use the General Pop-ups die in our creation!  There's a $20 gift card available to win over at the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog.  All you have to do is answer a question on their blog!  The question is:  "What Elizabeth Craft Designs dies or stamp sets would you use with the General Pop-ups Die set if you were making a Pop Up Card?"

Be sure to check it out at their blog for your chance to win!

Here's what I did:

Making the inside of your cards extra special is super easy with the pop-up die.  I remember making my first pop-up, all that measuring and creasing.  With this die, it's SO simple to do!

And seriously, how cute is that snow globe (cut with the Snowglobe Scene dies)??!  It comes with all the pieces you need to make adorable snowglobe scenes.  To create my scene, I added a mixture of Kids Choice Glue and Cool Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter to the snow die cuts in the set.  I added a colored house and trees from the Row Houses Clear Stamps and cut them with the coordinating dies.  The colors I used were E31, E33, E35, R35, R37, YG61, YG63, C1, and BG10.

I decorated the inside with the Christmas Collection Clear stamps.  The outside circles were die cut with the Stitched Circles die as was the popped up snowflake.  The thin inside circle comes with the Snowglobe die.

The card base and accent circle were colored with Distress Oxide inks in Salty Ocean, Faded Denim and Peacock Feathers.

Thank you for stopping by today!

Happy Birthday, Daddy!

Happy Birthday to my DADDY!  Whoop!  I seriously have the best dad.  He and my mom are there for me - always - no matter how many stupid mistakes I make.  He can do and fix anything.  Seriously, just like McGyver!  I created him a birthday card using fabulous products from from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

Neat, huh?  The owls are from the Give a Hoot Clear Stamps and are colored with Copics:  E41, E42, E43, BG70, BG72, BG75, BG10, E07, E09, and YR16.  The stars are colored with Y23 and Y26.  I used the Manly Man paper from the 12x12 collection.  The image border is done with the Stitched Rectangle dies (and I just cut off the ends).  I finished the card off with a die cut from the Celebration Flags and some twine!

Christmas Poinsettia - Artzy Style

I've got a fun Christmas card over at Dare 2B Artzy today!  Here's that I did with the Poinsettia Tangle Stamps and Coordinating Dies:

Isn't that poinsettia pretty!  I love the Zentangle!  I colored the top layer with Copic markers R35, R37, R39, C1, C3, Y23 and Y28.  The bottom layer is just done with the cool greys and rimmed with red.  I popped the top flower onto the bottom flower.  The paper is from the Holly Days collection.

Hope you have an ARTZY day!

It's time for a new challenge at Paper Nest Dolls Challenges.  I'm working on trying to finish up my 2017 Christmas cards, so I used the digital stamp, Avery with Poinsettia to create this fun card:

I love her long wavy hair.  I usually do brown hair, but the pretty paper called to me to try blond.  LoVe how it turned out.  The colors I chose to color her with are Copics:

Hair:  E51, E53, E55
Skin:  E000, E01, E11
Clothes:  YG61, YG63, G40
Poinsettia:  E13, E15, E17, R35, R37, R39

The paper is from the Elizabeth Craft Designs, It's Christmas Time Collection, and I used dies available there too.

Thanks for stopping by today!  And be sure to join the challenge for your chance at winning a fantastic prize!
