Happy Birthday, Boy

It's Karen Day over on the Elizabeth Craft Designs Blog!  Yay!  :)

Happy Friday!  Today, I'm sharing a card I made for the son of one of my friends.  Boy cards are tough for me, but I think the combination of the Color of Puppies, Boy paper along with the Zoo Babies stamps was perfect. Here's what I did:

Let It Go, Artzy Style

Today, I am posting a card over at Dare 2B Artzy that was SO much FuN to make.   I'm going through a bit of personal issues here lately and decided to make a card just for me.  I'm going to keep this card on my desk...

Isn't it pretty?  And the reminder to "Let it go" will be good for me.  The flower and sentiment are from the Dare 2B Artzy, Let It Go Stampset and are stamped with Totally Black ink (great for Copic or watercolor techniques).  To create this card, I smeared distress oxide inks in Cracked Pistachio, Broken China and Iced Spruce onto my craft mat, added some water, and ran the watercolor cardstock through.  Then I put Worn Lipstick, Wilted Violet and Peeled Paint on my craft mat and watercolored in the flower and leaves.  I took what was left on my craft sheet and flicked the paintbrush to get some splatters.  I also added some polka dots to the flower with a Kiririna Wink pen.  To embellish, I framed it on teal cardstock with a pink border die cut (with small pearls) and added some washi tape.
Here's a close-up of that pretty flower:

Also, have you "liked" us on Facebook yet?!  You should!  There's all kinds of beautiful inspiration.  Be sure to also check out all D2BA's products here!

Wreath

Christmas Card Challenges has a new (and optional) challenge this week.  This week's challenge is inspired by a pretty wreath:

I used a new-to-me image from an Etsy Store, called Crafts and Me.  Here's what I did:

She's gorgeous, and I love the way she turned out.  Since the image was so detailed, I kept the rest of the card pretty simple.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Hope you join us in the challenge!

Emma with Anchor

It's my day for an inspiration post over at Paper Nest Dolls!  It's summer-fun time, so I decided to create a summer / water sports inspired card:

So sweet, this doll with her anchor, aptly named, Emma with Anchor.  I colored her with the following Copics:

Skin:  E000, E01, E11, R21, BV20
Hair:  E21, E23, E25
Clothes:  Y13, Y15, Y18, R24, R27, R29, BG72, BG75, BG78
Anchor:  C1, C3, C5

The background is created with Distress Oxide inks.  (LoVe them!)  The frame around the image is created with Elizabeth Craft Designs Fitted and Dotted Scallop Oval dies.  And I added a sentiment from the General Sentiments set from Elizabeth Craft Designs.  It is framed with Stitched Circle die (also from Elizabeth Craft Designs).  I also added some lace, ribbon and enamel dots.

A Flower and a Hug

LoVe the pretty flowers in the Flower Power stamps from from Elizabeth Craft Designs!  Here's what I made:

The flower is colored with Copic markers:  R81, R83, R85, R22, R24, and R27 and is centered with pink prills.  I super LoVe the ModaScrap Lace Heart die also from Elizabeth Craft Designs.  I splattered some Worn Lipstick distress oxide ink in the background.  The "tape" used on this card is the tape used to tie together pieces of drywall in construction.  I think it adds some cool texture here!  And I added some diamond dots, lace and ribbon along with a sentiment.

The full supplies list is below.  Thank you SO much for stopping by!

There's a new challenge at Dare 2B Artzy. This month, it was all about summer!  Join us.

Summer is all about being outside, having fun and doing our best to keep cool.  One of the ways that my family loves to keep cool is going to the lake!  Today's card is a nod to that using the Dare 2B Artzy Restore the Soul stamps.

I used Copic markers to color those adorable ducks:  YG03, YG06, G12, G14, YR14, YR61, YR65, Y00, Y02, Y15, Y18, BG72, BG75.  I sure LoVe coloring these fun detailed images!  The background paper is part of the In Bloom Paper Collection.

I dressed up my card with a Cattail die cut and some pearls and flowers.
