Distress Crayons

I had a chance to play with the new Tim Holtz Distress Crayons for Cut@Home this week!  I used them to make backgrounds for my cards.  Here's my video showing you how I used them:

And here's my cards...  For the first one, I added some Tim Holtz Spiky Flowers and some sequins.

I embellished the next one with big flowers (colored with Copics) from Dare 2B Artzy.  I also splattered some ink on the page.

I then mixed some of the crayons with Gesso and used an UmWow Studio butterfly stencil.  (The background on this one is Distress Ink.)

And finally, I embellished this one with some Tattered Lace

Birthday Chibi Boy!

Today, I'm sharing a FuN card using Chibi Boy Expressions Stamps from Oak Tree Stamps  There are a bunch of cute expressions that go with the boy face, and so many fun possibilities.  I have four sons (plus the large one I call husband), so I decided a (somewhat) masculine birthday card was in order.  Here's what I did:

I say it's only "somewhat" masculine because I just had to have hearts and bows!  My boys fully expect that.  I colored up his adorbs face with the following Copic markers:
Face:  E000, E01, E11
Cheeks:  R21
Mouth:  E4
Hair:  E41, E33, E35

I pulled that paper out of an old stash, and I haven't a clue what brand it is....but I'm super proud of using up some old paper!  The hearts are confetti hearts from UmWow Studio, the twine is from Timeless Twine, the sentiment is a Penny Black Celebrations Die, and the speech bubble is a Spellbinders Conversation Bubble 2 Die.

Thanks for stopping by on this Happy Humpday!  Please check out all the fun at Oak Tree Stamps! Also, stop and LIKE the Oak Tree Stamps Facebook Page for more fabulous inspiration!

Talk Nerdy to Me

I'm up over at the 3 Girl JAM blog today.  I started to make a card using this month's "sale" colors (Summer Harvest), which are beautiful jewel toned Raspberry and Blueberry.  You can pick up this gorgeous bundle for JUST $1 with your order at the 3 Girl JAM store.  I ended up making this:

Nope, no blueberry or raspberry colors on that!  Do you ever do that when you're crafting - just go sideways!?  hee hee  This card uses another beautiful ribbon from 3 Girl JAM, Cocoa from the Victoria Dream Bundle.  It also uses a little Light and Bright Lace.

The paper is from Basic Grey, and the stamp is from There She Goes.  The girl is colored with Copic Markers.  I added a little UmWow Studio chip circle confetti.

Have you checked out the 3 Girl JAM store lately?  You should!  You can save 10% off your WHOLE purchase with code KN10?  Heck of a deal!  OR use code JULY to get the Summer Harvest Bundle for just $1.  Great deals!

Since you're here, be sure to check out the 3 Girl JAM "Anything Goes w/ Ribbon" challenge?  Anything, with ribbon, that's easy, huh?

I'm up over at the Cut@Home blog today with some fun projects using the Graphic 45 Artist Trading Tags and a variety of Graphic 45 papers (listed below). Merry Christmas Eve!  I'm posting this sweet card over at 3 Girl JAM today and am also submitting it to this month's Unity {Be Inspired} Challenge using the colors.

Have you started crafting for Valentine's yet?  What?  It's not Christmas yet, you say?!  Well, I'm ready for Christmas.  No time like now to get started with the next holiday, right?

Love this little mouse from Unity Stamp Company {Alfie-heart and soul mouse} almost as much as I love 3 Girl JAM Simply White Lace and Crinkle Ribbon in DaffodilTie Dye Pink, and Tie Dye Green.  And you know what else you can love?!  10% savings from your entire purchase at 3 Girl JAM with code KN10!  Wow!

Time to Flourish

I have a SUPER fun project up over at the Cut@Home blog today using the NEW Graphic 45 Time to Flourish Collection.  Cut @Home sent me the ENTIRE collection and asked me if I'd make a little something to show it off.  What?!  Really!?  Oh my goooooodness, yes!

I made me a keepsake box.

It's made with the Graphic 45 Mixed Media box.  The box comes with 6 "coaster-sized" cardstock pages.  The Time to Flourish collection is month-themed, so I decided to decorate each side of the inside with a month to have remember-the-dates cards for my box.   These cards were SO much fun to decorate.  Check 'em out!

This is one of my ALL-TIME favorite projects!  I absolutely LOVE it.  I hope you will go check out my post at the Cut@Home blog.  I have a video posted there.  Go seeee!  And while you are there, sign up  for the VIP mailing list.  The company sends out GREAT coupons.  Really great ones.

Finally, I wanted to do a card with both the color palette and the sketch.  This one uses Unity Stamp Company {Array of Bottles}.

Other ingredients in this card:  Copic markers, Timeless Twine, UmWow Studio butterfly chip confetti covered in Liquid Pearls, and Basic Grey Green at Heart paper (the golden piece is from my scrap pile).

Need a Squeeze

Today, I'm sharing a card over at Linnie Blooms that I "squeezed" from my creativity (LOL) using circles from the Linnie Blooms - Set of Canvas Dies - Shapes, Unity Stamp Company {Need a Squeeze}, paper from Simple Stories {A Charmed Life} and a smidge of UmWow Studio Heart Confetti.

I inked the circles with Dylusions in Mowed Lawn and Lemon Zest and Mr. Hueys in Sherbet.  I love how they frame that citrus fruit!

Now, who doesn't need to be squeezed every now and then?!  Thanks so much for stopping by today.  Before you go, be sure to check out:

Reach for the Stars

Happy FRIDAY, Friends with Flair!  It's been a while since I've been able to get a post up on Friday.  Life has been so busy.  My oldest broke his big toe (ouch), youngest was home for 3 weeks from his deployment, and 2nd youngest had his wisdom teeth removed.  I've been nurse-maid, travel and event planner, and chef.  I don't do it all the time anymore because my kids are older, but it was sure fun to be totally needed (for a while) again.

Today's card is being entered into this month's Unity {Be Inspired} challenge using the color palette and uses a Unity Stamp Company set from Phyllis Harris {Reach for the Stars} colored with TH Watercolor Distress Markers and Inks.  Some stickles and liquid pearls highlight those stars.

I used paper from my stash, UmWow Studio Confetti Stars, 3 Girl JAM crinkle ribbon and Timeless Twine.

I love that "bow"....so shiny and colorful.  Here's a close-up.

Hope you are all having a blessed Summer!

Patriotic Wall Hanging

This month, over at Linnie Blooms, the design team was challenged to make a project that is somehow patriotic.  I wanted to try my hand at using a Linnie Blooms 5x5 canvas blank to create a mini wall-hanging.

My son is proudly serving in the U.S. Army, so I knew exactly what stamp I wanted to use from Unity Stamp Co.  Here's a close-up of the fabulous sentiment I chose.

I love that.  After I stamped the sentiment, I used Mr. Hueys (Overdue) and Adirondack Color Wash (Denim) through a couple Tim Holtz layering stencils to create a background.  (I covered the sentiment with a strip of paper to make sure I didn't spray over it.)  I stamped a heart from Unity (Heart Finds Home) after coloring it with Tim Holtz Distress Markers and spritzing it with water to create the heart below.  Finally, I added some fabric tape, UmWow Studio star confetti and oodles of Stickles.  With some ribbon as a hanger, here's what the final project looks like.

The final touch was to add some faux stitching and an underline under the sentiment.  (Thanks to my DT sister, Donna K, for that fabulous idea!

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  Before you go, be sure to check out:

Chevrons and Christmas

There's only 9 months and 9 days until Christmas!  Yay!   AND it's time for a new challenge at Christmas Card Challenges!  This week's challenge is to create a Christmas card with chevrons.  As always, the challenge part is optional.  All we ask is that you link up with us!  Easy, huh?

This card includes a stamp from There She Goes stamps.  They went out of business - total bummer....but I got this cutie before they closed their shop.  I used some heart tape, chevron washi and a banner from a scrap along with some UmWow Studios chip colored up with Liquid Pearls and adorned with a snowflake.

Monochromatic Dress

I spent a WHOLE day crafting.  When I went into my craft-room, it was to clean up from the holidays.  I cleaned about a 10 inch piece of desk surface....and found a few stamps I'd pulled out to use before the holidays.  Welllll, this was one of 'em.  (Unity Stamp Company Shop. Lunch. Chat. Gal)

Maybe I've got an attention deficit disorder?  I've crafted about 8 hours straight, and my crafty space isn't any cleaner!  LOL  Maybe tomorrow.  Maybe not.

I'm entering this card into the Shopping Our Stash One-Color Challenge.

WooHooo - Happy New Year!

I recently purchased my very FIRST Paper Smooches stampset, Chubby Chums, and finally got a chance to ink it up today.  I love owls, but this owl is seriously the cutest.  Isn't he?  I thought that this would make an excellent card for Happy New Year (or birthday or celebration of any kind).

Recipe:  Paper Smooches - Chubby Chums stamps, Echo Park A Boy's Life Paper, Timeless Twine in Yellow and Cape Cod, UmWow Studio Heart Confetti covered in Liquid Pearls, Stickles and Glossy Accents, and some sequins and washi.....oh and some googly eyes!

WooHooo!  Entering this into my very first Paper Smooches Challenge - Anything Goes!
