Making Flowers

I've been working on my flower-making skills using products from Elizabeth Craft Designs.   There are many great You-Tube videos in the Susan's Garden area on the Elizabeth Craft Designs Channel.

In this case, I couldn't find a specific video, so I googled the image for Love in the Mist and did my best to copy it.  Here's what I created:

and here is the image I was copying:

The original is prettier, but I still like how my card came out!  And it's super relaxing and fun to make the flowers.  My complete supplies list is below.  Thanks for stopping by today!

You've Been Framed

It's Designer Challenge Day at Elizabeth Craft Designs!  Such a fun inspirational post on the blog, and there's a $20 gift card available to win over at the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog.  All you have to do is answer a question on their blog!   Be sure to check it out at their blog for your chance to win!

This month's challenge to the designers is Frame It!  Put a frame on something.  I decided to put a frame on a frame to create a mini dry-erase board.  I purchased a frame at Ikea for $2.50 and glammed it up:

I created a Happy Frame following instructions from Els's Technique video - found here - using the Thinking About....Polinesia 12x12 paper.  Love the polkadots!  I created the flowers on the edge embellishment using the Color My Flowers clear stamps and coordinating dies.  I colored them with Copic markers:

YG11, YG13, G12, G14, BG02, BG05, B12, B14, Y13, Y15, R81, R83, Y26

The opening in the frame is 5"x7", so for the inside, I stamped the n I stamped the Circles Background stamp, and then moved the paper in my Tim Holtz stamp platform and stamped it again at the bottom.  It's a random enough pattern that it wasn't hard to continue it.  I then colored the circles with Copic markers:

YG00, B00, BG000, R00, Y00

Here's what it looks like with a note on it.  I plan to use it as my status board at work on my door.

Be sure to see all the other crafty frame goodness on the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog today!

Surprise! Happy Birthday, Els Blog Hop!

Today is Els van de Burgt's birthday!  The design team for Elizabeth Craft Designs is celebrating with a surprise birthday blog hop!  Happy Birthday, Els!  Whoop Whoop!

We hope you will join us in making Els's birthday special by dropping by the Elizabeth Craft Designs Family Facebook Group and wishing her a happy birthday.  The hope started at the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog, so if you just happened upon us, you might want to head back there so you don't miss any of the fun.

Here's what I made:

To make this card, I cut two circles with the Fitted Circles dies from the Butterfly Dreams 6x6 paper.  I then stamped three of the flowers from the Color My Flowers Clear Stamps and cut them with the coordinating dies.  I colored them with Copic Markers:  B93, B95, B97, V22, V25, RV52, RV55, R35.  I used 100 lb soft Finish Cardstock for the card base and cut a background from it using the Dashing Rectangles. I cut the Happy Birthday Die three times from grey cardstock and glued them together to add dimension to the sentiment.

To further celebrate Els's birthday, from now until March 19, 2018, you will receive 10 sheets of stickers when you place an order over $25.  Cool deal!

Well, now it is time to continue along the birthday hop.  Your next stop is the talented and amazing Samantha!

Wander There

Happy March y'all!  I finally got a chance to play with the new Cacti stamps and dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs.  Super dee-duper love them!  Here's what I made!

That beautiful paper is from the Wood Effect 12x12 collection.  Love the colorful wood!  I colored up two cacti in Copic markers:  G82, G85, E41, E42, E43, BG02, BG05,  The square frame was done by cutting grey card stock with two successive Dashing Squares dies.  The perfect sentiment is from the Summer Sentiments clear stamps, and I finished off the card with three flowers from the Bunch of Flowers 1 set with some half pearl centers.
