Crazy 4 Eclipse Cards

Today is my last post as guest designer for the Crazy 4 Challenges blog!  This weeek's challenge is to do an eclipse card.  This is my first!

The beautiful paper is from Elizabeth Craft Designs - Butterfly Dreams 12x12 collection.  I used their Blackboard Alphabet dies  and the Small Butterfly die.  Pretty.  The eclipse part was easy.  I cut the letters from the background and then cut them again in a teal color and layered the cut outs.  I then used some pop-tape to pop the letters.

Thanks for stopping today!  Hope you join the Eclipse Challenge!

I am excited to again be guest designing for the Crazy 4 Challenges blog again!  This week's challenge is about ombre.  For my card below, the circles background, leaves and butterfly all have some ombre!

That butterfly is from the Elizabeth Craft Designs Bugs & Butterflies clear stamps and is cut with the coordinating dies.  I colored it with E31, R81, R83, R85, and B34.  The sentiment is from the Plant, Grow and Blooms sentiments set and is cut with a Dashing Rectangle die.  The blue piece is cut with the Circle Background die.  Before cutting it, I colored it with Distress Oxide inks in Faded Jeans, Salty Ocean and Broken China.  The branch is called Berry Branch and is colored with Distress Oxide ink in Peeled Paint.  I added some Key Lime Jewel Nuvo drops to the branch.

More Hexagons

Earlier this week, there was a Hexagons Designer Challenge at Elizabeth Craft Design.  I liked the random hexagons of my card so much, that I did it again!

In this case, I "dyed" a piece of 110lb White Soft-Finish Cardstock with Worn Lipstick and Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide inks and then cut it using a few of the Stitched Hexagons dies.  I placed them randomly and added a sentiment from the Beach Sentiments.  Then, I added an adorable flamingo from the Elizabeth Craft Designs Flamingo die along with a few sequins.  He's colored with Copics R81, R83, R85, E42 and YR14.  Easy, fun and sweet.

Hexagon FuN

It's Designer Challenge Day at Elizabeth Craft Designs!  That means there's a ton of fun and crafty inspiration on the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog.  This month, we are celebrating hexagons.  Fantastic!  And there's a prize.  All you have to do is answer a question on their blog!   Be sure to check it out at their blog for your chance to win!

Here's my hexagon creation:

I loved this combination of hexagons with the flowers from Elizabeth Craft Designs Susan's Garden collection.  To create this card, I washi-taped several of the Stitched Hexagon dies to a piece of patterned paper from the Butterfly Dreams 12x12 collection.  Then, I took the fun cuts and placed them randomly on a piece of 110lb White Soft-Finish Cardstock that I cut with a Dashing Rectangle die.  I then "gardened" up

  • Shasta Daisy with a Copic Y15 and some yellow pollen center along with a couple Copic YG17, G43, G46 leaves
  • Forget-Me-Nots colored with Copics B93, B95 with white acrylic marker and Copic Y15 centers and a E33, E31 branch.
  • Baby's Breath with a G43 stem and a smidge of Y11 in the centers of the flowers.

I finished the card off with a few half pearls and a sentiment from the General Sentiments Clear Stamps that I colored in with a Y15.
V20, V22, V25, R81, R83, R85, YG11, YG13, Y26, B93, B95, B97

Be sure to see all the other hexagon goodness on the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog today!

A Way with Words - Happy Birthday

I've recently gotten into making Elizabeth Craft Design Susan's Garden flowers.  So relaxing to bend and form the die cuts into pretty flowers.  Here's one I made using the Garden Notes - Forsythia, Shasta Daisy and Frosty Fern.

To make the Forsythia, I colored 110lb Soft-Finish Cardstock with a Y06 Copic, and the center of the flower is dabbed with a G40.  The branch is E33.  The Shasta Daisy centers are colored with a Y15 Copic and I added some yellow pollin.  The leaves on the daisy are colored with YG17, G82, and G85.  The fern is colored with a G43 and G47, and the very tips are dabbed with a white acrylic paint marker.

The background is made with Distress Oxide inks in Peacock Feathers, Fossilized Amber and Peeled Paint.  The sentiment is also from Elizabeth Craft Designs from the "A Way with Words" collection.  I die cut the circle frame around the sentiment with a couple Dashing Circles Dies and cut the card front out with a Dashing Rectangle.

A Way with Words - Focus Day

It's another FUN new release day at Elizabeth Craft Designs!  Whoop!  Today it's all about the A Way with Words line, and I have some FuN features here!  Like this one made with the new Special Delivery and Little Ones dies.

Love that beautiful script die that I cut out with adhesive and colored with Rose Red Silk Microfine Glitter.  Gorgeous!  The circle die cut in the middle is a Dashing Circle die, and on the inside, the sentiment is a Fitted Circle Die cut.  The polka-dot paper is from the Thinking about Rio de Janeiro 12x12 collection.

And here's my second card for the release which again uses the Special Delivery/Day dies and also uses the new Flourished Night Sky Dies.

The paper on this one is the 12x12 Fly & Scrap.   The "Special" is die cut from blue card stock, and then I used a white acrylic pen to add the polka dots.  I added a tail "star" from the Sweet Things dies and covered the star with Periwinkle Silk Microfine Glitter.  Behind the word "special," I have added a Stitched Hexagon and a strip of pink paper.  I embellished this card with a Susan's Garden Shasta Daisy with a little Frosty Fern.

Go Barefoot Day

I'm super excited to be guest-designing for Crazy 4 Challenges this month!  This week's challenge is all about Go Barefoot Day.  The challenge is to create something barefoot!

I immediately thought of Paper Nest Dolls Troll Ellie!  She's one of my favorite images to color.  For my card, I die-cut her out with an Elizabeth Craft Designs Fitted Oval and layered that on a Dotted Scallop Oval.  The paper is from Elizabeth Craft Designs, Cucina with Love collection.  I embellished the card with a couple UmWow Studio chipboard circle confetti covered with Buttermilk Nuvo Drops.

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you decide to go barefoot in the challenge!
