Spring Blooms

Today is an EXCITING day with Elizabeth Craft Designs.  The ALL-NEW stamps have been released, like Spring Blooms, that I used to make THIS card!

The sketch for this card comes from Melody Blake (who created one of my most favorite cards ever using it).  The paper is from Heartfelt Creations, Birds and Blooms.

Here are the Copics I used to color the flower:

Snow-buddy Christmas

It's time for a new and optional challenge over at Christmas Card Challenges.  Christmas is a mere 11 months away.  No time like the present to get started on those cards.  This week's optional challenge is snow!  I live in Sunny No California, so I don't see any snow.  I know many of you have seen plenty of it!

Here's what I made:

I colored up this Paper Nest Dolls image with the following Copic markers:

Clothes:  R24, R27, R29, YG03, YG07, YG17
Snowman:  C1, C3, YR04, R27, Y26, Y28
Skin:  E000, E00, E11, R20
Hair:  E21, E33, E35

The paper is from a very old Echo Park collection.  I have had scraps of it for years and finally decided to use them.  Glad I did!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Elizabeth Craft Designs Critter Challenge

Today is an ExCiTiNg day!  Today is the Designer Challenge on the Elizabeth Craft Design's Blog!  Whoop!  Elizabeth Craft Designs has all sorts of wonderful products, and I am so blessed to be able to showcase a few of them.

Here's my first card today (the one that is on the Elizabeth Craft Design's blog) using the soon-to-be-released Bird-Day Party Stamps from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

Copics used:  RV04, RV06, RV14, RV17, YR21, YR24, YR14, BG53, BG57, E41, E42

The images on both my cards are cut out with Stitched Circles.  The colored die cut circles on both cards is one pass with the Fitted Frames 5-Lace Circles.  The background and circles paper are cut with the Watercolor Paper, and the colored paper is Sunflower Soft Finish Cardstock.

On this first card, I daubered Tim Holtz Distress Ink in:
Smaller Circle - Broken China
Larger Circle - Picked Rasberry
Background - Fossilized Amber, Mowed Lawn, Picked Raspberry

I spritzed the whole thing with water and then added a little Tea Dye to the edges and layered on the pieces.  I added the cake from the Bird-Day Party set that I cut with the coordinating dies...and a couple Nuvo drops for finish.

I had some extra lace circles, so I created:

Copics used:  YG03, YG06, B93, B95, Y06, Y08, YR14

For this one, I daubered Broken China and Salty Ocean onto my craft mat and spritzed it with water and then put the paper into the ink.  I splattered some yellow Dylusions ink.  I inked the two circles the same way (larger one is Blueprint Sketch; smaller one is Mowed Lawn).  I added some lace and crinkle ribbon and finished it with a couple pearls and a sentiment from General Sentiments Stamps.

Wow, that was fun.  Thanks for hanging in with me on the longer-than-usual post.

Craftily yours,

Karen

Growing in Unity, Day 2 - Life is Better with Friends

Welcome to Day 2 of my Growing in Unity Week.  Be sure to leave comments each day for a chance to win a fabulous prize package of 25 random stamps from Unity Stamp Company!  Whoop!  Kathryn is also Growing in Unity this week.  She's got some GrEaT stuff lined up for you too.

Today, I created a card that is a bit outside my normal wheelhouse using Unity Stamp Company, Spanky!  (I love the name of this stamp-of-the-week set!!)

Eeek, I love that lil bird!  The background of this card is Ken Oliver Color Burst on TH watercolor cardstock.  The birdie is colored with Y06, Y08 and YR16 Copics.  I added some pink Nuvo drops for the heart and some yellow ones to the background.  In both cases, the Nuvo picked up some of the background ink (which is why they are all or partly green.  I thought that was a cool effect.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and for your sweet comments.

Craftily yours,

Karen

Sleepin' Pups

Today, I'm giving a sneaky peek of a "soon-to-be-released" stamp set from Elizabeth Craft Designs called Dreamers.  It's an adorable set of sleeping cutie patootie animals....like this pup:

That FuN pawprint stencil is called Hearts and Pawprints and is also "soon-to-be-released."  Love it.  I used Tim Holtz distress inks in Wilted Violet, Salty Ocean, Mowed Lawn, Fossilized Amber, Dried Marigold and Festive Berries.  The pup is cut with an Elizabeth Craft Designs, Stitched Circles die.  The frame around it is an Elizabeth Craft Designs, Dotted Scallop Circles die.  They fit perfectly together!  The green paper is Elizabeth Craft Designs, True Green Soft Finish Cardstock, and the background uses the Elizabeth Craft Designs, Watercolor Paper.  The pup is colored with Copics - W0, W2, W3, G46, and V15.

And then I used the "soon to be released" Butterfly Kaleidoscope Stencil, for another card with the Dreamers stamps and the watercolor paper:

The color cardstock in this case is Elizabeth Craft Designs, Mint Green Soft Finish Cardstock.  I took pictures of the process.  Using Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Wilted Violet, Fossilized Amber, Cracked Pistachio, and Salty Ocean, Here's what I did for the background.

And then for behind the stamp, I spritzed the stencil and turned it over, like this:

Seriously love that sleepin' pup from the Elizabeth Craft Designs, Dreamers Stamps.  AND I totally love the new stencils.

Thanks for hanging with me during this longer-than-usual post.  And thanks for stopping by.  Before you go, please go check out:
