Stickle Splatters

It's another happy Saturday at the All That Stickles blog, which means it's a new challenge!  Woot!

The challenge is to create a card, lay-out or other project with Stickles showing appreciation!  For my project, I decided to try to make the fabulous inky splatters with Stickles in this simple design card, so I'm calling them Stickle splatters.

Stickles used:  Lavender, Purple, Icicle, Yellow, Antique Linen, Mercury Glass, True Blue, Firefly and Glam Pink.

The stamps are from There She Goes stamps.

It's different....hmmm.....  Come on, Stickle up your appreciation!  Join us - you could win one of these wonderful prizes our generous September sponsors - just for linking up!

FWF Rollin' with It

Happy Friday, Friends with Flair!

It's been a "stupid-busy" week for me.....you know those weeks when stuff gets so busy that all you can say is, "I can't do everything at once - that's just stupid!"

So glad it's Friday.  I did manage to find a few moments to ink up one of my new Unity Snow-Peeps!  These new stamps are SO cute!  I guess the sentiment really fit with my week because I've just been rolling with it!

Hope everyone (including me!!) has a wonderful and restful weekend!  To my U.S. Friends with Flair, Happy Labor Day!

Karen

A+ Friend

3 Girl Jam Challenge has a back to school challenge.  All of my kids are grown and out of school now, and I'm not in the grandchildren phase yet, and I never did back to school projects when I did have kids in school......but I love 3 Girl Jam Crinkly ribbon, and I'm trying to enter all of their challenges....................so I did a friend card and graded it!  An A+ friend.  I used the "school doodles" set from There She Goes Stamps.

I also used the photo inspiration at Paper Girls Challenge using the bright fun colors in their picture.  Here's what I came up with.

The other exciting news for this post is that I got a new watermark.  I really love it!

So Proud of My Boy

This week's challenge at There She Goes is a sketch challenge.  Using "Bootcamp" from their stamps, I created a card for my son who is deployed in Korea in the U.S. Army.   I'll send it along with his next care package from home.  Having him be so far away isn't easy, especially with all the scary stuff that is happening in the news these days.....but I really am so proud of my son.  This stamp-set had my name written all over it....and I always feel happy when I create with it, as if I am somehow a boot closer to my boy.

Remember the Teacher

Today is the second week of the Clear It Out challenge. It's a Back to School theme, and the stash item to use is chipboard.

For my card this week, I used an image from QKR - Held Prisoner.  I work at a University.  One of the faculty I work with told me a story once where one of his PhD students was graduating and moving on.  The professor's daughter said, "What about you, Dad?  Do you ever get to graduate and leave school?"

In a nod to that professor, I created this card to remember that the teacher doesn't ever really leave :)  Plus, I thought the image was pretty cute!  The UmWow Studio chipboard arrows are covered in Stickles - Distress Antique Linen...

Friday FWF Loving It

It's FRIDAY!  And I'm on VACATION today!  Bam!

My husband and I are going camping with some dear friends this weekend!  Can't wait!  Headed to the ocean, so it'll get cold at night :)  It's been so hot here in No Cali that I'm looking forward to a little cool.... :)  I'm even taking a jacket!  Maybe that's wishful thinking?

I decided to get inky for this week's FWF with one of the stamps in the Here's My Thought set.  Last week (think it was then?), I saw another person ink up just the hearts in pink.  I love the effect!  I added a ribbon flower and some inky, blingy butterflies.

And here's the card I submitted for the Unity Facebook Itty Bitty Color Challenge!

Stay cool!

Furry Friend

There She Goes Stamps has challenged us this week to use one of our furry friends in our creation.  I went through my TSG and found lots of our people friends and lots of our feathery friends, but I only had one who lived in FUR!  I'm not sure he'd be my friend if I met him in the wild, but he sure is cute on paper while he carefully decorates that tree.  I used my NEW Picket Fence Distress Stickles to create snow.  Love the look of it!

So Wise

There's a new challenge up at the Clear It Out challenge blog. It's Back to School, and the stash item to use is chipboard.

For my card this week, I used an image from our Digi Darla - Flowery Owl on Branch.  I don't have any school-age children, and I'm not in the grandchildren stage yet, so I chose to create a card using a wise owl.....because you have to go to school to be aflowery wise owl :)

I used some UmWow Studio chip covered with Opal Liquid Pearl in the middle of each scallop.  This chip is the "waste" part of this arrow...

Waste not, right?  Smart because I went to school!  :-)

All That Stickles 1 + 2 = Stickles Blog Hop

Welcome to the 1 + 2 = Stickles Blog Hop brought to you by the All that Stickles design team!

Back to school is just around the corner, and what better way to start off the school year then with a bit of sparkle?! Today the design team is showcasing all sorts of glittery back to school projects that kiddos and teachers will love!

If you've come from Ann's blog, you're in the right place! If you have just come across the hop and would like to start from the beginning, please visit All that Stickles.

For my project, I decided to alter a notebook. I use this notebook to keep track of projects that I have due.  Here's what it looked like BEFORE.

The handwritten "boat log" is there because I stole it from my dear husband.  He'd used it previously to track boat repairs. I took a bunch of scraps and taped them to the notebook and stuck them down with mod-podge. Then I decorated it with a cute image from Bugaboo (one of our generous sponsors), some UmWow Studio Chip, and OF COURSE, some Stickles!  Colors used:  Glam Pink, Waterfall, Yellow and Firefly

Now, the dear hubby will NEVER know it used to be his notebook!  ha ha!

We have blog candy for those who are a follower of All that Stickles and leave a comment on every stop of the hop! Winners will be announced Wednesday August 21st at All that Stickles.

$15 Gift Certificate

$25 Gift Certificate

10 Digis of Winner's Choice

Thanks for hopping! :) Don't forget to check out our Nature/Outdoors Linky Party!

Christmas Flamingo?

Today's challenge over at Christmas Card Challenges is a super fun and creative one - use a non-traditional Christmas image. Ha!  I have the perfect stamp-set.  It's an old one from Close to My Heart - called "Tropical Christmas."  Yes, indeed, it's a flamingo!

I am totally addicted to liquid pearls.  There are dots of ruby around that fabulous frame and I painted it on my flower too!  Be sure to check out the blogs of the other extremely talented Christmas Card Challenges design team members:

All That Stickles - Beauty in Nature

Happy Saturday!

The challenge at All That Stickles is to create a card, lay-out or project celebrating nature or the outdoors.  Fun!  I've been wanting to use my dragonfly stamp from Unity's Stamp of the Week, and what better way to do it than to mix it up with some sparkly Stickle goodness!!

Here's a little inspiration to get you started.

I used Yellow and Stardust Stickles.   Hoping your week is filled with sparkle!

Unity - Be Inspired

Unity Stamp Company has a new challenge.

I loved the card sketch and the fall colors, so I decided to combine the two.  Using my newest Stamp of the Week - Pumpkin Blossoms, I came up with this card!

Karen

Pastel and Twine = Amazing You!

Tuesday Throwdown has one of my favorite stamp companies as their sponsor this week, and I am SO glad I found their challenge.  I really love pastel colors too!  We can submit up to three entries, so here's entry #2 for me!

Another one of my favorite things is Timeless Twine!  Love love this stuff.  I created my pastel card using Amalia Daisy Fairy from There She Goes stamps based on their sketch.

And here's the "Amazing You" culmination of many of my favorite things!

FWF - Another Itty-Bitty-A-Day

There was SO much fun and inspiration on the Unity Show & Tell page this week!  Angela sponsored another Itty-Bitty-A-Day contest, and here were my entries for each day!

Monday was Bernie with a big gluber/ribbon flower!

Tuesday was You Are Cute made with flowers and ribbon and liquid pearls and a button!

Wednesday was Each Moment is Success with green and purple!

Thursday was Penguin Coolness with another gluber/ribbon flower!

And YAY, it's finally Friday!  For Friday, it's all Santa Baby!

Hope you all have a fantastic weekend!  :)

TSG Color Challenge - LOVE!

There She Goes stamps this week has a color challenge - pink, turquoise and grey!  I decided to use a combination of Mixed Media Backgrounds and Handwritten to create a card.

I'm also submitting this card to a new challenge (new to me!) - Tuesday Throwdown - who asks us to create something using pastel colors!

I added some glossy accents to each of the hearts.  Here's a close-up....sorry about the lighting on the close-up, I was wanting to get the "shine" of those cool hearts :)

Summer Hula

Today is the second week of inspiration at the Clear It Out challenge blog. It's our Summer Vacation challenge - and you have to use stickers or rub-ons.

For my card this week, I used an image from our new sponsor - Lacy Sunshine!  Such CUTE dig stamps!  Go check 'em out!

Last week, my card was about not having to wake up in the morning on summer vacation.  This week, it's about waking up in some beautiful tropical place!  I love this lil gal....and I absolutely adore that sweet frog playing his ukelele!  Ha ha, he's even got his tongue out cuz he's concentrating SO hard!

Evergreen

Today's challenge over at Christmas Card Challenges is to use the theme - Evergreen (as in trees).

I created this clean and simple card with a lovely evergreen tree.  I'd love to take credit for the tree, but it's from an old UmWow Studios KOTM.  Love it.  Add some paper from my stash, some 3 Girl Jam Goblin Green crinkle ribbon and some bling.....and here's what ya get!

One of my fellow Christmas Card Challenge design team members, Heather, always does a design for the inside of her cards.  I love what she does, so I decided to try it on for size...

My sentiment is a little crooked, and you can see a little bit of my feet in the picture....but it'll get there....haha

Triangles

Scrap Warriors Advanced Training Drill #13 is to use some trendy triangles.  I used a new set of stamps from There She Goes to create this cutie:

I adore those little stick figure kids - so stinkin' cute!  And I cut the ends off some UmWow Studios Chip banners to create extra triangle accents.  Love how it all came together!

Friends with Flair - First Love

Happy Happy Friday!

Quick and simple this week....I used my Unity Phyllis Harris First Love and EP Everyday Eclectic paper to make this card.  I accented it with some green liquid pearls.  I love how it turned out!

Hope you have a lovely weekend!

Silhouette Challenges CH#4 "Shaped Card"

Happy day to you!  Happy day for Silhouette Challenges too!  It's time
for another Challenge over at

A blog dedicated to the Silhouette Cutting Machines.
You MUST use a Silhouette somehow in your project.

Ch# 4 Shaped Card
Begins: Thursday, August 1
Ends: Saturday, August 31

Sponsors this month are:

My Scrap Chick
Prize: $10.00 GC

My Crafting Channel
Prize: $15.00 Amazon GC

Little Scraps of Heaven Designs
$15..00 GC

I was so excited about this month's project.  My DH and I are avid boaters, so I just knew I had to make a boat-shaped card!  I used a boat that I purchased at the Cameo Store and then rotated in 180 degrees, and lined the two mirror image boats up.  Then, click "Weld" and I had a boat shaped card!  I love being on this DT; I'm learning so much!  I hope that I've inspired someone to take their favorite shape and make a card!

Summer Vacation - No Mornings!

A new challenge is posted today up at the Clear It Out challenge blog!  Our challenge is to use the theme "Summer Vacation" and to use some of those stickers or rub-ons!

This is a tough challenge!  I'm not usually a big fan of stickers or rub-ons.....but I sure do have a million of 'em!  For this challenge, I used an image from our fabulous sponsor - Bugaboo's Crabby Cathy Morning.  This image shows you best what I love about summer vacations; i.e. I can avoid looking like this getting ready for work!  ha ha  She's fabulous!  I dolled her up with happy, summery Echo Park papers.  And yes, I incorporated a few stickers (the little flowers around the sentiment).  I also added some UmWow Studio's chipboard that I fancied up with three colors of liquid pearls.

I seriously love Cathy's fuzzy yellow slippers!

Believe

There She Goes Stamps provided this photo for their color inspiration challenge.  I got their "Holiday Cheer" stamp over the weekend, and I new I had to use this red, blue-ish with a little bit of gold to make a holiday card!

Paper Girls Challenge said to glitter, glitter, glitter!

Done and done!

I used Cranberry Stickles on the lights, Stardust Stickles on the hat-bob and the top layer of snow, and Icicle Stickles on the second layer of snow.  I also used a blue-ish glitter brad.  It's very shiny :)

Christmas Sketch Challenge

Today's challenge over at Christmas Card Challenges is a sketch challenge.  I love, love sketches! And I love, love penguins!  I decided to combine the two to make this fun and flirty card!  You'll note that I rotated the sketch 90 degrees counter-clockwise....  That's part of why I love sketches so much.  So many different interpretations of the same sketch!

Things with Wings

Continuing to ink up some of my new There She Goes stamps.  This time, I created a card for Really Reasonable Ribbon's Challenge - Things with Wings!  I used some lace ribbon and Websters Pages paper I had in my stash.

Craftily yours,

Karen

Amazing YOU!

Last weekend, There She Goes stamps had a new release party, and GUESS WHAT?!?!  I won the entire release!  Exciting stuff!  I adore these stamps - so fun and whimsical!  I got them in the mail yesterday and couldn't wait to INK.THEM.UP!

3 Girl Jam Challenge asked us to create a project with Kraft paper and Ribbon.  I love their crinkly ribbon goodness and love entering their challenges!  Using some Basic Grey Kioshi, some 3GJ ribbon, and my new stamp, here's what I came up with....blog followers, meet Amalia Daisy Fairy!

Could she be any cuter?  That gorgeous crinkle ribbon's colors are just perfect.  Green-tinged edges, somewhat golden and pink!  I added some Stickles and Glossy Accents to Amalia's wings to sparkle her up a bit and some Liquid Pearls in Hydrangea to give her flowers some dimension.  Here's a close-up!

Fun!
